Nabisco 600 representative Anthony Jackson, Local 348 Financial Secretary/Business Agent Juan Figueroa and BCTGM Community Organizer Nate Zeff were among hundreds of union leaders, activists, and politicians who attended the Greater Boston Labor Council’s annual Labor Day breakfast at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. Speakers at the event included Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey, and Attorney General Maura Healey.
The Greater Boston Labor Council includes 161 local unions, representing 90,000 workers in Greater Boston.
Nabisco 600 representative Anthony Jackson, Local 348 Financial Secretary/Business Agent Juan Figueroa were able to speak with Senator Elizabeth Warren and Attorney General Maura Healey about the BCTGM’s boycott of made-in-Mexico Nabisco products.
Following the breakfast, Jackson, Figueroa and Zeff handed out boycott literature at the Bread and Roses Festival in Lawrence, Mass. The festival had hundreds of people, union booth, music, and the Nabisco 600 representatives were able to interact with many activists and educate them on the boycott of Nabisco made-in-Mexico snacks.
